About Me (and This Site)

Hello. I’m Renzie. Welcome to my blog.

There’s not so much going on here. I’ve got other blogs going on– sites I maintain and work on for various clients, as well as my own personal online projects. Nevertheless, I felt that I needed something relatively low-maintenance where I can document bits of my life and all that.

Hence, this site. It’s not so much a showcase or portfolio of my online work as it is an ongoing journal for what I’m currently into or what I’ve been up to lately.

I’m a small business owner and professional digital marketer based just a couple of hours from Manila in the Philippines.

Our family does quite a bit of travel (at least we have pre-pandemic), so now we’re on the lookout for fun, family stuff that we can share with other hardworking, hands-on parents just like ourselves.

I’m handy with WordPress, SEO, content strategy, branding, digital marketing, and a bit of data science and Python. I maintain a number of my own sites, including a blog on things to do in and around our hometown.

Most of the work I do now, I do remotely. Which means I work from home for the most part.

So yes, I do have a bit of gainful employment going on doing digital marketing for various clients, but I also:

  • Take on freelance copywriting gigs
  • Have my own personal projects (usually involving building niche-market websites)
  • Run a humble online business from home

Working from home is awesome– something I encourage everyone to take advantage of if and when they can. I don’t spend any time on the road, I get to hang out with my growing boy a lot more, and most importantly, I’m able to get more things done within my day, my week, or even my year.

I’d like to think I’ve had quite the colorful career thus far. I have had the opportunity to:

  • work in FM radio (for 20-ish years),
  • produce and promote concerts (with international and local talent),
  • write for various magazines/publications
  • earn extra cash as a voice talent and event host (back in the 90’s),
  • manage a floor of call center agents (for all sorts of campaigns),
  • do a bit of project management for a company that built websites for U.S. clients,
  • blog professionally,
  • and dive into the local wedding business via a boutique cake shop, bridal car rental service, and a local wedding website.
